SENDIASS Young People's Forum
Contents
Overview
The SENDIASS Young People's Forum aims to provide children and young people with an opportunity to influence the SENDIASS service.
Support available
Meetings currently take place virtually and details are sent directly to young people before each meeting.
Some young people may take part in projects that are important to them. These may be face to face or virtual.
Sessions last for 1.5 hours. Young people do not have to take part in the full session; they can just join to say hello, or catch-up on a particular topic.
What we will do in the next 12 months
- Develop a strategy for the SENDIASS Service
- Build on the services distribution of information and participation opportunities for young people through our termly e-Bulletin
- Develop a workplan of projects and activities for our sessions.
- Create a process for services to request the input of the SENDIASS Young People's Forum
- Coproduce a shared learning event with Making Participation Work & Youth Forum North Tyneside. This will focus on what is working well, what can be improved?
- Moving Up event in Spring 2023 for Year 10+. A roadshow with attendees from careers, education and preparing for adulthood.
- Plan and deliver a young people's SEND Conference winter 2023
